| Photo Diary | The Silver Mountain

I remember feeling as though I had dreamed my way into this place. The entire time we were in Ginzan-Onsen, I felt worlds away from anywhere else. As if I were floating, bewitched in a halcyon of wistful beauty.

This has to be one of the most picturesque places we have ever visited.

Whilst the rest of Japan had woken into Spring’s cherry blossom efflorescence, Ginzan-onsen like an obstinate child, was still clinging to its snowy blankets. We were sorely underdressed for our visit but such physical discomfort dissolves into insignificance when encountering such a beautiful place in such a dramatic setting. Well, that and the fact that Ginzan-onsen has natural hot springs. More of that another day.
