Drop Dead Dirty Cute

I have allowed myself 1! Just 1! Christmas season make up collection. When I saw the Shu Uemura and Aya Takano LE collection in Space NK today I couldn’t help myself for 2 reasons:

1. Despite myself, I rather like Aya Takano’s weird cute yet disturbingly distorted pervy world.
2. I like Shu Uemura.

Palette: bowwow! magic queen palette (wot a name)
Tube: miracle cherry blush
Book: Drop Dead Cute by Ivan Vartanian

“Drop Dead Cute showcases the work of ten cutting-edge female Japanese artists.”

Aya Takano says:

“A lot of people think that I make direct references to sex in my drawing, but that’s not the case,” she says. “The characters I draw just happen to be naked at times”.

The palette encases three pressed eyeshadows, one cream eyeshadow/eye liner, a cream highlighter and a glow on blush as well as two applicator brushes.

Now for my confession, I do think that the graphics on the collection are well……tame as far as Aya’s work goes! I can’t help wondering if so many would still rush out and buy these items if Shu Uemura had chosen more risque images from her such as these:

ooooooooooh missus! What d’ya make of that?!
