Hong Kong Delightful

I said to Yumeko; “Mighty misty today isn’t it?”
Yumeko said to me; “That is no romantic fog! It’s the pollution!!”.
“That would explain the frog in my throat and my continual sudden coughing”, I thought to myself.

Day 2 in Hong Kong:

I met Yumeko outside City Super in the colossal Harbour City Mall.

T’was a dangerous place to meet for I found a heap of goodies that I had to grab:
Bath powders. I must laugh at myself for I got a cow one too!

I have wanted to try these Canmake Cream Cheek blushes forever! Well, ever since they were released.

I have a thing for, rice, charcoal, green tea and soya beauty products so I had to buy this makeup remover/cleanser to try out sometime.

We came across a FANCL shop and couldn’t resist the special offer they had on the new MILD cleansing oils! Awwww just look at the little bottle.

Lunch time!

Our tummies grumbled as we saw the queue for Din Tai Fung. However, Yumeko can be a wiley fox when needs be so she got us a dining space quick time.

Xiao Long Bao
Everyone goes here to try this apparently. I can testify that they were a true delight, paper thin skin and the filling was delicious and all steamed to perfection. Note to me: Must try this in Tokyo too.

Yang Chow Fried rice. Seriously yummy stuff!!

Steamed Vegetable Bun. The yummiest veggie bun I have ever tried.

More yummy dumpling!!

Cannot recall what this was called but my tummy is begging for some right now! Wafer thin slices of chicken in a delicious slightly tangy sauce and cucumber. Fantastic

All stuff down the gullet! I enjoyed this meal tremendously. A few days later I had the chance to grab a bite at a branch of Crystal Jade in Harbour City and it did not compare with Din Tai Fung. I don’t care if anyone disagrees with me!!

Mischief Makers in the pm:

Yumeko and I did much wandering about doing what we love! Shopping!

Spotted a Shu Van!!

Photo stop.

This was part of a shop display and it was just begging for a photo!

Back to my soya skincare fetish: Yumeko bought me some more treats.
I am a soap and water kinda gal. I am not keen on strongly scented soaps so the shower wash above was an absolute gem. I loved it soooo much that Yumeko got me the sunscreen to try too.

Marching into Muji

Muji in the east is another planet in comparison to the shoddy shops we have here. I would just love Muji UK to start to stock some of these things:

Bath fizzers.
I used the honey and lemon duo on my return to UK. Darn good stuff.

I am such a sucker for a pretty blusher!
Yumeko and I were pleasantly surprised with how jolly well pigmented this was.

Maccha milk and rose tea.

Sweet Dynasty

Dinner time! Grub’s up!

So after stuffing down some more yummy things. Yumeko announced that we were going to have a tofu dessert. “Why not”, I thought!

Then it came out…….

A big ole bucket of the stuff!!

My heart sank!!

“How on earth are we to eat all that?”

“What do I do if it tastes of shite?”

I loved this stuff!!!
Sooooo light and “tofuey“. If you don’t like tifu…steer cleer of this one for it has such a pure clean delicate flavour and I wish I really was a cow with 4 stomaches so I could have had more!

Yumeko tells me that there is a Sweet Dynasty in Tokyo…another place to visit!

After dinner, it was back to the W hotel. I am so glad that I had a chance to visit this place for myself. Hiro’s lighting design hero Kaoru Mende designed teh lighting here and as you may have seen in my last HK post, it is rather spectacular.

We spent a great deal of our evening snapping away and giggling between drinking.

Here was a pic we took for Pink after a Twitter chat.
In case you are wondering; it is a giant mosquito, and it rests high up on the wall in the entrance to the bar.

Ignore my scrawl.

Doodles from 2 curious minds:

Dear Yumeko, I hope to see you again soon….somewhere!

I have one more Hong Kong Post……shall be up and ready soon.
