Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream

I begun to run out of BB cream. This is the 1st time that I've faced this in about 4 years! Quite exciting really, because, it is an opportunity to try some new ones.  The Canmake Tokyo Perfect Serum BB Cream was top of my wish-list as it seems to tick all my boxes:
  • Base and foundation coverage
  • SPF50+++
  • High coverage
  • 21 skincare beauty ingredients.

Getting straight to the point. This didn't work very well with my dry/combo skin. However, I used it during the warm spell that we have been experiencing here in London, and it works much much better. Quite a relief as this will come in handy when/if we get a summer so that I may get to utilise the SPF50!

The ingredients list is impressive and includes, hyaluronic acid, collagen, ceramides, royal jelly extracts, witch hazel, arbutin, aloe vera, sea weed, gingko and soybean extracts.

It is not the easiest BB cream to apply if you too have patches of dry skin so I would recommend using a good moisturiser beneath. Coverage is semi sheer to medium with a matte soft-focus finish on me which I really like. If you are seeking a BB cream with lasting power, then do give this a go as it really clung to my skin without leaving me feeling "blocked" all day. The drawback is that you will need to drag out your bestest cleanser and possibly your Clarisonic or exfoliator to get every last bit of it off before retiring to bed.

I used Shade 2. There are only 2 shades available.

  1. Sounds interesting but perhaps will not be good on my skin as it sounds like it will bring out the fine lines on my face. Since it's Canmake, it must be at a reasonable price--in Japan.

    Thank you for the review!

  2. This bb cream looks interesting. I have dry skin too, since its still cold. This would be good for the warmer months coming soon. What shade are you and does this come in a lot of shades?

  3. Dear Yasumi, I hope that one day we could have a face-to-face catch up to discuss BB creams (and many other things!) as you sound like a real expert! I hope you are enjoying a nice w-e, Caterina

  4. I've always been a full coverage foundation kind of girl, but lately I've been intrigued by the possibility of BB creams, mainly for summer - it gets a lot hotter during the summer in Paris than it does in Vancouver and there is nothing worse than the look of melting make-up! I like the idea of how long-lasting this formula is, although I do wonder if the shades would be dark enough for my skin... I shall have to do some investigations, I think!

  6. Hmm, usually BB creams are super moisturizing, and not so great for those of us with oily skin, so maybe something like this would work well for me. I like the fact it has aloe vera, and witch hazel which helps with acne breakouts..
