Funky Granny on Fallen Leaves and Autumn Light.

I didn't grow up with AUTUMN. Trees never chucked their leaves across the place where I was born. I remember being genuinely impressed with the colours of autumn when I first arrived in this country. It still impresses me today.

Incidentally, Hiro says I look like a "funky granny" when I dress like this. Good thing I happen to think granny style is FAB.

Autumn is less of a display in the city scape of London. Though there are some spots where I can still immerse myself in the wonderment of it all. We took these photos in the front garden of the splendid Geffrye Museum in Hackney before they cleared away the leafy litter.

  1. I LOVE these shots! It's great that you were able to discover the joys of autumn! When I was a kiddo, my mum used to pick me up from afterschool club, and we'd walk home. In the autumn I'd always kick, stomp and shuffle my way through the leaves! In fact I used to follow the path of accumulation of leaves. Sometimes I'd end up in the road!

It was so fun! Even with threats of "I'm not going to buy you new shoes if you keep doing that" I still continued.

    That is a fabulous outfit!

  9. Aha, another autumn enthusiast. I get unreasonably excited about drifts of leaves. I even insist that it's MY job to rake the leaves in the garden - and that no one else is allowed to do it!
Less 'funky granny', more just plain 'fabulous'- especially the skirt/bag/shoes co-ordinating with the leaves effect. Take off the coat and you could just about merge into the autumn backdrop.

  10. Trees don't really change with the seasons back home hey? I think it's cos majority of our green stuff is either cacti or ever greens, and while I do remember seeing bare branches in the Winter, I can seem to recall there ever being THIS MUCH fallen leaves.
Canada has the most amazing Autumn I've ever seen, the entire landscape turns to various hues of red and yellow and as much as I hate Canadian Winters, Canadian Autumns is high on my list of favourite seasons.

  13. Beautiful shots! I love Autumn too :) I wish the leaves were also left alone in my city, nothing better than walking along a path and listening to the crunch of leaves.
