Sunlight in the ghost village

I thought that I would take you all on one more trip to Kaya Koy village in Turkey. These photos were taken within a disintegrating church at the heart of the so called "ghost village".

  1. Hey Londoners, send midwest USA some of your sunlight! We've had nothing but chilliness and rain for weeks. It's rubbish for taking pictures!
That stone floor looks so beautiful.

  2. Cool! Oman has the same kind of abandoned villages - the residents frequently just moved to a newer village down the valley!

I think this place is different from the places in Oman as this was once the home of a thriving Greek community until the "population exchange" took place. It's a sad story.

I like the photos captured because they feel alive
You are right in stating that the weather had an effect on the photos, had it been a cloudy day the mood would surely be different

  9. I have never put the words 'ghost' and 'beautiful' in the same sentence but seriously, what an amazing place?! Gives me goosebumps in a good way. X
