The Giant Creature in The Car Park

Whilst shivering our way around an interesting corner of Hoxton we stumbled into a car park and were astonished to find a work by the great street artist ROA.

As Hackney citizens, it not uncommon to come across ROA's work. The trick is to photograph them before the Grafitti Removal Team get to it first.

You can see more of our ROA photos
here and here.

Impressive artwork. I love the backdrop in the last picture. This part of town is seeing massive infrastructure development and it's sort of sad to see these old buildings go but we've got to move on and make way for the tall shiny towers like those in Bishopsgate.

  2. It's gut-wrenching stuff Mr N. It really is. We have enough office blocks. So many in the City are half empty.

  8. Gosh! Remove? That's practically sacrilege :( How long does Roa spend on a huge piece like this?

  10. They remove them??!! Sacrilege!!! And wonderful you caught it in time.
I've a huge soft spot for street art and graffitti, i think it comes from only ever having political and sectarian murals and art in belfast when i was a kid. I was always in awe of other cities and their art.
    More of this please!

  12. Theres a street in my city where there are multiple walls of fantastic graffiti, which is updated by the artists from time to time. It's a part of the city. Its such a shame that they remove ROA's work in your area.

  13. after watching a documentary about street/graffiti artists, i have more of an appreciation of the effort they go through to "share" their art, and it's a shame that it gets taken down so quickly. i think it makes a place look more interesting!
